On the Beach!

Acer and I headed to see Auntie Michelle to hang out with her in Massachusetts. Then we went up to Maine to go to a UNE Environmental Studies Alumni thingy... We got to see and hang out with Carriann and her two little girls, Tammy, Eric, Jen, Laura, among others. Our two favorite parts of the trip were getting to see and talk with Owen Grumbling, one of the best profs at UNE, and GOING TO THE BEACH! This was Acer's first time on the beach. It was chilly and windy, but so much fun. We can't wait to go back maybe sometime this summer?!

I just couldn't resist adding this picture. He's too cute! Only a month to go until the 1st birthday. Allan taught him how to climb stairs tonight... He used to just climb one stair, but now he knows how to climb them all! Thanks Dad... Acer and I are off to visit Auntie Michelle this weekend! We can hardly wait! Ignore Punxsutawney Phil and Think Spring!

New Things...

Happy New Year Everyone! We hope you all had a fun holiday season... AND Happy Inauguration Day! What a day :) Were any of you there?!

Things are going well here. We survived the holidays here in Vermont with the friends and family that were around. We stayed here Christmas eve and had spaghetti and meatballs with Otho, which was really nice. Then the three of us spent our first Christmas morning together opening gifts, playing around, having breakfast. We had a very relaxing morning. Acer seemed to have the most fun with Allan's new toothbrush... Then we headed off with Otho to Harry and Karen's for lunch. We had a lot of fun with "Papa Ho" and "Granny Karen". Then back to our house for Christmas dinner with Otho, Loren, Kristen, Amy, Pete, and Paul. Tortiere (the best meat pie in the world), roasted root veggies, sweet potatoes, and lemon cake!!!! New Year's was also fun. We packed up and drove down to Bo's for the night. We braved the cold and saw in the new year around a bonfire with fireworks, friends, and family. We got to see David and meet his wife Jamie and son Jaden. We also got to see Uncle Dave and Aunt Patty AND Beth and Griffin which was a treat! A typical crazy Boreanaz celebration...

So, as for life after the holidays... Unfortunately we are all recovering from a pretty nasty cold/flu thingy. Acer is such a trooper when he gets sick! Acer is doing a "regular" crawl now, which is much faster and a lot easier for him. We just got a gate so he cruises around and explores the upstairs. He got a few wonderful gifts for Christmas as you can see in the slideshow to your right (a block set with it's own cart, a swing, and many others...), but his favorite new activity is getting pulled around in the laundry basket!

Acer's First Tree

Happy Holidays Everyone! It's hard to believe that December is almost gone and Acer is 9 1/2 months old... He's still doing the "army crawl" to get places, but he does it with surprising speed! Right now he really loves to pull himself up onto things and stand. He still only has two teeth and a little bit of hair, but we expect more of both in the coming months.

This picture and the slideshow to your right is from our recent expedition into the woods to find ourselves a tree. It was a wonderful hike through thigh deep fresh powder! This picture was taken at the end of the trip while I was cutting the tree down. He had a great time up until we stopped for a while. He has the cutest little snowsuit (Thanks Mel!)

We will be sure to post pictures of Christmas as soon as we can. I think Acer will have a fantastic time with all the paper and boxes. Uncle Rob and Aunt Bunnie sent us a package in a fairly large box last week with some gifts and it turns out that Acer likes the box best of all! Easy for us :)

Great-Great Grandma Frannie!

Hello All...

Sorry once again for the delay in writing. We've had a very busy October and early November with visitors, a quick trip to Buffalo, a first Halloween, and an election! Whew... We saw the Carras who came up for the long Columbus Day weekend, Michelle and Christina, and Carriann with her two beautiful girls...

The Buffalo trip was a whirlwind of new people for Acer. We drove there with Suzy who was attending a workshop training all weekend. The drives were fantastic, lots of sleeping... We only stopped once each way! Acer met new aunts, uncles, cousins, and his great-great grandma Frannie. We stayed with his great grandma and had so much fun playing at her house.

So much is happening, so fast... Acer got his first tooth and then another a couple weeks later. He's just about to start crawling; he can inch himself forward if he really wants something. And, he's almost 20lbs at 8 months old. Hard to believe it's been 8 months already. We hope you enjoy the new slideshow pictures from October. We're trying to get some good pictures of his new tooth (teeth), but he won't sit still.
